About

Our Story

Inspired by the beauty of wood, Shiruba Tree was founded by Kris Rogers in 2010. From a young age Kris has preferred tools to toys and led by his curiosity into the understanding of how things work, he developed a flair for dexterity and design. Whilst working as a joiner and developing skills in woodwork, he became intrigued by the world of precious metals and developed his first wood and silver ring. With exceptional attention to detail, many variations of innovative and skillfully formed designs were explored and created. Branching out Shiruba Tree soon established a successful range of exquisite rings, naturally growing and evolving from a love of craftsmanship. Today Shiruba Tree is run from a workshop set in rural Kent, where collections and commissions are crafted to customer specifications, in a wide range of woods and metals, each and every piece guaranteed to be unique.

Shiruba Tree Craftmanship

Our three main aims as a company are: To craft natural jewellery with the help of trees; to stay a small and friendly business; and to offer bespoke customer services. Most items can be made with a different choice of wood, and we are not limited to creating solely wood and silver items. Please have a look at our bespoke page for more information. All pieces are stamped with Kris’ personal Maker’s mark as assurance of purity and quality and can also be stamped by London Assay Office as required.

The beauty of wood is that after time it may wear down and change colour slightly, transforming each item into one entirely unique to the wearer. In buying a piece of Shiruba Tree jewellery you become the owner of a piece of nature to be cherished, so we may give consideration to the fundamental beauty of trees, a reminder every time we look to our hands.

CREATING UNIQUE JEWLERY

All of Shiruba Tree’s woods come from sustainable sources and are certified as not contributing to deforestation or illegal logging. They are from all over the world – rich Blackwood from Africa to Snakewood from Australia.

A craft ethos is also at the heart of everything Shiruba Tree does. No milling machines or lathes are used on the wood and the metals are hand forged. This means each piece of bespoke jewellery can be made exactly to customers’ specifications, from the choice of quality hardwoods to the final finish of the precious metal.
