Is my ring covered by a warranty?

Yes. Should your ring develop any defect related to the crafting process within the first year of ownership we will replace it immediately. If your ring is damaged through misadventure or misuse the warranty will be void and we will not be able to offer you a replacement. Should this be the case please contact us and we can offer a repair service instead.

What woods and precious metals are available?

We use a variety of precious metals. Typically these are the following:

925 sterling silver
Fine silver
9 carat yellow and white gold
18 carat yellow and white gold
Palladium 950
Conflict-free diamonds

We can also work with other metals, woods or diamonds, including reworking or melting sentimental items into new jewellery. We can source most woods on request, including traditional English woods. These are classed as commissioned pieces, so please contact us for further details. Unfortunately we do not work with titanium as its strength means it requires special equipment to craft.

Can you make me a custom Ring?

We gladly accept commissions. Pricing a bespoke ring depends on the wood and precious metal selected, so please contact us to discuss your requirements and we can work out a price for you. Commissions can take up to 4 weeks, possibly longer if the chosen materials require special sourcing. Commissioned rings are excluded from our returns policy – they cannot be returned if unwanted.

What if I want to return my Ring?

We hope you will like your ring, but if there are any flaws or faults with the workmanship on delivery then we will immediately offer a replacement. If you want to return your ring as unwanted, please return it within 14 days – unworn with the original packaging as new – and we will issue you with a full refund (minus the cost of postage). If your ring is damaged through misadventure or has been misused we will not be able to offer a refund, however we do offer a refurbishment service. This service incurs a fee that will be calculated depending on the extent of the damage and the work or materials required to repair the piece.

How do I pay for my Ring?

We use PayPal as our means of payment. However, you do not need a PayPal account to order from Shiruba Tree, simply a debit or credit card. Alternatively you can pay by cheque, however please note that work on your ring will not start until the funds have cleared. It’s important to us that shopping with Shiruba tree is a secure and easy process, so you can view our security and privacy policy here. https://www.shirubatree.co.uk/legals/privacy-cookies/

How will my ring get to me?

Our rings are packaged in 95% recycled custom-branded boxes and shipped in 100% recycled cardboard boxes. Within the UK/EU we use Royal Mail as our courier and every item is insured for its full value. If ordering from outside the EU please note you may be charged a customs fee. How this charge is calculated depends on your country’s import tax arrangements and we cannot be held responsible for meeting this cost.

Bespoke orders?

Before ordering bespoke work, please ensure that all information that is supplied is correct. Shiruba Tree is an internet based company and can only work from the specifications we are given. All bespoke/customised work is non-refunable, it is the customers responsibility to supply us with all the correct information. Please be aware that not all designs and metals can be resized, therefore an accurate ring size is vital.

How long will it take to make my ring?

We do not pre-make rings or hold any in stock – each piece of jewellery is custom-made to order, which is how we love to work. It’s important for us to make sure you to get your ring as soon as possible, but please allow 10 to 14 days from order confirmation to dispatch.
After your order is confirmed we will send you an estimated dispatch date. We always aim to beat this, however we will contact you should there be any delay. Please ensure you supply accurate contact details when ordering.

What If my ring doesn’t fit?

We endeavour to get it right every time, but occasionally a ring won’t fit. If this happens, simply return the ring so we can make adjustments. As each ring is hand-made to order there is a 15% fee when the item is returned for adjustment.

How do I find my ring size?

Simply visit any jewellers and they will be happy to measure your ring size. Ring style can affect the measurement of your finger, so whenever possible try on a sample ring that has a similar profile and width to the ring you would like to order. Alternatively we can supply a free ring-size measurer. Please visit the contact page to order.

How do I care for my ring?

Shiruba Tree rings require no more care than any other finely crafted piece of jewellery. Over time, the wood will pick up the natural oils secreted from your hands and skin, adding strength and flexibility to the natural material.

However, we always suggest care to be taken in the first few months of the life of the ring, as this is when the wood is settling in to its new form.

We suggest avoiding any long-term exposure to extreme heat or water – though your ring will be fine when bathing or showering. As time passes, you may consider waxing or oiling the wood from time to time, we recommend ‘Renaissance Wax’ or alternatively using either bee’s wax or olive oil.

To maintain the rings longevity we recommend arranging a regular professional service with us, this is dependant on the lifestyle of the wearer.

How strong is the Wood?

As our woodwork is crafted by hand we can work with the natural grain and form of the wood, harnessing its natural strength and resilience – something that veneered or machine products cannot offer.
This is crucial when it comes to shaping the wood around the ring. Rather than forcing it, we follow the natural lines of the wood when fitting it to the silverwork. This means the wood in our rings can stand up to the everyday wear and tear expected of any piece of fine jewellery.

To maintain the rings longevity we recommend arranging a regular professional service with us, this is dependant on the lifestyle of the wearer.

Please pre-arrange this service using our contact page. Your jewellery will be inspected in order to determine the service that is to be provided. If it is necessary you will receive an estimate, and the service will be booked once confirmation is received.

Where does Shiruba Tree source the wood?

Our woods are sourced from a variety of suppliers worldwide – and we ensure their sustainability. All our woods meet with CITES (the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora) to ensure our products play no role in deforestation.

Rush Orders?

If an order is requested to be rushed through, we are normally able to deliver this. However all rings are handmade and customised, so please contact us via email prior to placing your order. A charge may be applied.
